Bike Mileage Calculator
Find how many kilometres your motorcycle runs on one litre of fuel and what each kilometre costs.

Formula
How the calculation works
The calculator divides the distance travelled by the litres of fuel used to give the mileage in kilometres per litre.
It multiplies the fuel price by the litres used to get the total spent on fuel for the trip.
Dividing that fuel cost by the distance gives the cost of every kilometre travelled.
Common mistakes
- Filling a partial tank and guessing the litres, since an inaccurate fuel figure throws the whole mileage result off.
- Measuring short trips with heavy traffic and stop start riding, which gives a much lower mileage than a long open road run.
When to use it
- Riders use it to check whether a motorcycle is performing as it should or burning more fuel than normal.
- It also helps compare the running cost of a bike with the bus or rickshaw fare on the same route.
Worked example
Travelling 200 kilometres on 5 litres of fuel gives a mileage of 40 kilometres per litre, and at 125 taka per litre the fuel cost is 625 taka with a cost of 3.13 taka per kilometre.
Common questions
How do I get an accurate mileage figure?
Fill the tank to the same mark twice, note the distance between fills and divide it by the litres added, which gives the most reliable result.
