Figures are computed on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.

Formula

royaltyAmount = salePrice * royaltyPercent / 100; creatorAmount = royaltyAmount * creatorSharePercent / 100; platformFee = salePrice * platformFeePercent / 100; sellerProceeds = salePrice - royaltyAmount - platformFee

How the calculation works

The calculator takes the resale price and multiplies it by the royalty rate to find the total royalty owed.

It then applies the creator share to that royalty, because marketplaces often split it among several collaborators.

It subtracts both the royalty and the platform fee from the sale price to show the amount the seller actually receives.

Common mistakes

When to use it

Worked example

A resale at 3.2 ETH with a 10 percent royalty, a 50 percent creator share and a 2.5 percent platform fee gives a royalty of 0.32, the creator 0.16, the platform 0.08 and the seller 2.80 ETH.

Royalty amount 0.32
Creator share 0.16
Platform fee 0.08
Seller proceeds 2.80

Common questions

Why can the creator receive less than the full royalty?

On many marketplaces the royalty is split between several collaborators, so the creator share sets the portion that reaches the original artist.
