Formula
How the calculation works
The calculator adds the government visa fee, the visa centre service charge and the cost of preparing documents such as photos and attestations.
It then adds the medical test, any agent fee and the travel needed for interviews or submissions at the embassy.
Dividing the total by the number of applicants gives the true cost that each person on the application must pay.
Common mistakes
- Budgeting only the embassy fee, when documents, medicals and travel often add more than the fee itself.
- Forgetting that some fees are per applicant while others are per application, which skews the per-person figure.
When to use it
- Use it before applying so you know the full outlay rather than only the embassy fee printed on the form.
- Use it to compare applying yourself against using an agent once the agent fee and travel are counted in.
Worked example
Fees of 8000, 2500, 3000, 4000, 5000 and 15000 give 37500 taka in total, or 37500 per applicant for one person.
Common questions
Why include agent and travel costs?
They are real money spent to get the visa, and leaving them out makes the application look far cheaper than it truly is.
