Formula
How the calculation works
Enter the sale price in Taka before any commission is taken out.
Enter the commission rate as a percentage, such as 10 for a tenth of the price.
If there are other deductions such as delivery or tax, enter them too, and the tool subtracts the commission and deductions from the price to give the net payable.
Common mistakes
- Confusing the rate with the amount, so entering 10 as 10 Taka instead of 10 percent gives a wildly wrong commission.
- Forgetting the other deductions, which makes the net payable look higher than the money that actually reaches you.
When to use it
- Use it to check an agent's or platform's commission on a sale before you agree to the payout figure.
- Use it to compare two sales channels, since a higher headline price can still pay you less after a bigger commission.
Worked example
A sale of 100000 Taka at a 10 percent commission gives a commission of 10000 Taka and a net payable of 90000 Taka.
Common questions
How is the net payable worked out?
The tool takes the commission rate on the sale price to get the commission, then subtracts both that commission and any other deductions from the sale price.
