Affiliate Commission Calculator
Multiplies product price, commission rate and sales count to find gross commission, then removes the share lost to refunds for the net payout.

Formula
How the calculation works
Affiliate income scales with both the price and the number of conversions, so a cheap product with high volume can beat an expensive one with few sales.
Refund rates vary widely by niche, and fashion or electronics often see returns well above the modest rate used here.
Commission is usually only confirmed after the return window closes, so early dashboard figures can still be reversed later.
Common mistakes
- Reading early dashboard earnings as final, when those amounts can still be reversed by refunds and cancellations.
- Assuming every click converts, when the sales count should reflect only purchases that actually completed.
When to use it
- Use it to compare two affiliate offers and see which one pays more after realistic refund rates.
- Do not use it as a cash forecast, because commissions are usually paid weeks after the return window has closed.
Worked example
For 37 sales at 79.99 dollars with a 12.5 percent commission and a 4.5 percent refund rate, the gross commission is 369.95 dollars, refunds remove 16.65 dollars and the net commission is 353.31 dollars.
Common questions
Why does the net commission differ from the gross?
When a customer gets a refund the merchant reverses the commission, so the amount you actually keep is lower than the gross figure you first earn.
