Business Cash Flow Calculator
Works out your net cash flow for a period from money in and money out, then adds it to your opening balance for the closing balance.

Formula
How the calculation works
Enter the cash you started the period with, which is your bank and hand balance on the first day.
Enter everything that came in and everything that went out during the period, counting actual payments and not invoices you have not collected.
The tool subtracts the outflow from the inflow for the net cash flow and adds that to the opening balance for the closing balance.
Common mistakes
- Counting sales you have invoiced but not yet collected, which flatters the cash flow because that money is not in the account.
- Leaving out loan repayments and tax payments, since those are real cash outflows even though they are not part of running costs.
When to use it
- Use it each week to see whether the business is actually adding cash or quietly burning through its reserve.
- Use it before committing to a large purchase, since the closing balance shows whether you can pay for it without slipping into the red.
Worked example
With an opening balance of 100000 Taka, inflows of 250000 Taka and outflows of 210000 Taka, the net cash flow is 40000 Taka and the closing balance is 140000 Taka.
Common questions
Is net cash flow the same as profit?
No, profit counts sales when you invoice them, while cash flow counts money only when it actually moves, so a profitable business can still run short of cash.
