Credit Card Minimum Payment Calculator
Find the minimum you must pay on a credit card bill from the balance, the percentage rule and the fixed floor amount.

Formula
How the calculation works
The calculator multiplies the outstanding balance by the percentage rule and divides by one hundred.
It then compares that amount with the fixed minimum set by the bank, usually five hundred taka.
Whichever is larger becomes the minimum payment, because paying less leaves the bill unsettled.
Common mistakes
- Paying only the minimum every month, because interest then compounds on the remaining balance and the debt lingers.
- Forgetting the fixed floor, which in most banks is 500 taka and applies even when the balance is small.
When to use it
- Cardholders use it to see how much they must pay this month to keep the account in good standing.
- Families use it to understand the cost of carrying a card balance before the debt grows out of hand.
Worked example
On a balance of 25000 taka at 5 percent the percentage amount is 1250 taka, which is above the 500 taka floor, so the minimum payment is 1250 taka.
Common questions
Does paying the minimum avoid interest?
No, any unpaid balance keeps attracting the bank's interest, so paying the full statement amount is the only way to avoid finance charges.
