Crop Yield Calculator
Works out the yield per acre and the total revenue from a harvest once you know the total weight, the land area and the selling price.

Formula
How the calculation works
The yield per acre divides the total harvested weight by the number of acres, giving the productivity of the land itself.
Revenue multiplies the total weight by the price per kilogram, which is the gross income before any growing cost is deducted.
For 5,000 kg off 2 acres the yield is 2,500 kg per acre, and at 27 taka a kg the revenue comes to 135,000 taka.
Common mistakes
- Using the planted area instead of the harvested area overstates yield when part of the field failed or was lost.
- Treating revenue as profit skips seed, fertiliser and labour costs, so the real return is much lower than the revenue figure.
When to use it
- Use it after harvest to compare the yield per acre of this season with the previous one and see if the land improved.
- Use it before selling to estimate total income from the crop and check whether the buyer's price is fair.
Worked example
A 5,000 kg harvest from 2 acres at 27 taka a kg gives 2,500 kg per acre and 135,000 taka in revenue.
Common questions
Is revenue the same as profit?
No. Revenue is the gross income from selling the harvest, while profit is what remains after subtracting seed, fertiliser, irrigation and labour costs from that revenue.
