Digital Nomad Visa Income Calculator
Check whether your monthly income meets the minimum a digital nomad visa requires, and how big the gap is if it does not.

Formula
How the calculation works
Enter the minimum monthly income the visa requires, your actual monthly income and the number of dependants you are bringing.
The tool subtracts your income from the required figure to show the gap and adds a per-dependant allowance to the requirement.
It labels the result eligible or not eligible, so you know whether the current income already clears the threshold.
Common mistakes
- Using gross income, because most visa checks look at net income that actually reaches your account each month.
- Ignoring the dependant allowance, since a spouse or child usually raises the income the visa requires.
When to use it
- Use it before applying to see whether your freelance or remote income clears the visa threshold.
- Use it to plan how much extra monthly income you must show to qualify for a chosen country.
Worked example
A visa requiring 3,000 per month against an actual income of 2,400 leaves a gap of 600 per month, so the applicant is not eligible yet.
Common questions
Is the digital nomad income checked monthly or yearly?
Most programmes state an annual figure but accept proof of monthly income, so convert yearly requirements by dividing by twelve before comparing.
