Formula
How the calculation works
Gross revenue is the students times the course price.
The platform fee is a percentage of that, and the net income subtracts the fee and the ad spend.
Dividing the net by students gives what each enrolment is really worth to you.
Common mistakes
- Using the list price while most students bought at a discount.
- Forgetting the ad spend, which for a launch can exceed the platform fee.
When to use it
- Use it to see what an online course actually earns after fees and ads.
- It is not a projection; it uses the students and prices you enter.
Worked example
200 students at 2000 taka give 400000 taka, a 10 percent platform fee takes 40000 and 50000 ad spend leaves 310000 taka net.
Common questions
Is the platform fee taken before or after ads?
It applies to gross revenue; ad spend is then subtracted from the remainder.
What if I sell on my own site?
Set the platform fee to zero to see the income with no marketplace cut.
