Figures are computed on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.

Formula

netPay = grossSalary - paygWithholding - medicareLevy; superContribution = grossSalary * sgRate / 100

How the calculation works

The calculator subtracts the PAYG withholding and the Medicare levy from the gross salary to give the net pay in hand.

It then multiplies the gross salary by the superannuation guarantee rate and divides by one hundred to get the employer super contribution.

Super is shown separately because in Australia it is paid on top of the salary and is not part of the cash you receive.

Common mistakes

When to use it

Worked example

On a salary of 90,000 AUD with 20,000 withheld as PAYG, a 1,800 Medicare levy and an 11.5 percent super rate, the net pay is 68,200 AUD and the super contribution is 10,350 AUD.

Net pay ৳68,200.00
Superannuation contribution 10,350.00

Common questions

Is the employer super contribution part of my take-home pay?

No. Super is paid by the employer into your super fund on top of the salary, so it is separate from the net pay that reaches your bank account.
