Formula

ধাপ ১: eAGmgdl = 28.7 × a1cPercent − 46.7। ধাপ ২: eAGmmol = eAGmgdl / 18.0182। (বিপরীত: a1c = (mg/dL + 46.7) / 28.7।)

How the calculation works

The formula turns an HbA1c percentage into an estimated average glucose in mg/dL.

Dividing by 18.0182 gives the same figure in mmol/L, the unit used in many countries.

So an A1c of seven per cent is about 154 mg/dL, or roughly 8.6 mmol/L.

Common mistakes

When to use it

Worked example

An HbA1c of 7 percent equals an average glucose of 154.2 mg/dL, which is about 8.558 mmol/L.

Est. average glucose (mg/dL) 154.20
Est. average glucose (mmol/L) 8.56

Common questions

What does HbA1c show?

HbA1c reflects the average blood glucose over roughly the past two to three months, not a single day's reading.

Why give two units?

mg/dL is used in the United States and Bangladesh, while mmol/L is used in the United Kingdom and India, so both are shown.
