Figures are computed on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.

Formula

dailyRate = annualRatePercent/100/365; interest = outstandingBalance * dailyRate * billingDays; newBalance = outstandingBalance + interest

How the calculation works

Card issuers convert the annual rate into a daily rate and multiply it by the number of days the balance stays unpaid, so a longer cycle always costs more.

The estimate assumes no new purchases and no repayment during the cycle, which is why real statements often differ once transactions are added.

Common mistakes

When to use it

Worked example

On a balance of 45250 at a 36 percent annual rate over a 30 day billing cycle, the interest is 1338.90 and the new balance is 46588.90.

Interest charged ৳1,338.90
New balance 46,588.90

Common questions

Is this the same as the APR on my statement?

The APR usually adds fees on top of the nominal rate, so the interest here can be slightly lower than what the statement shows.
