Figures are computed on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.

Formula

How the calculation works

The foreign salary is converted to taka at the exchange rate, giving the monthly income your family can plan around.

Subtracting the monthly home expense shows what is actually saved, and multiplying by twelve gives the yearly figure.

A negative saving is a useful signal: it means the salary, at this rate, does not cover the home budget.

Common mistakes

When to use it

Worked example

A 2000 salary at 32.5 equals 65,000 taka a month; with 35,000 of expenses you save 30,000 a month and 360,000 a year.

Monthly income (BDT) 65,000.00
Monthly savings 30,000.00
Yearly savings 360,000.00

Common questions

Should I use today's rate or an average?

Use an average of the last few months, since the rate moves and a single day can mislead.

Does this include the cost of living abroad?

No, it only counts home expenses, so subtract your own living costs abroad separately.
