Salary Increment Calculator
Find the new basic salary and the monthly increase after an increment percentage is applied to the current basic pay.

Formula
How the calculation works
The calculator multiplies the current basic salary by the increment percentage and divides by one hundred to get the raise amount.
It adds that raise to the current basic to show the new basic salary after the increment.
The monthly increase is then multiplied by twelve to show how much more is earned over a full year.
Common mistakes
- Applying the percentage to the gross salary instead of the basic, since increments are usually calculated on basic pay alone.
- Forgetting that allowances such as house rent and medical may rise with the new basic, which changes the full gross figure.
When to use it
- Employees use it to check the new basic salary written in an increment letter before accepting or questioning it.
- Job seekers and negotiators use it to see how a promised percentage translates into actual taka each month.
Worked example
With a basic salary of 30000 taka and a 10 percent increment, the new basic is 33000 taka, the monthly increase is 3000 taka and the yearly increase is 36000 taka.
Common questions
Is the increment calculated on basic or gross pay?
In most organisations the increment percentage is applied to the basic salary, and allowances are then recalculated on the new basic.
