How the calculation works
Enter the width and height of one window in feet and the number of identical windows you are ordering.
Enter the aluminium rate per square foot and the total cost of glass and fittings for the whole order.
The tool multiplies width, height and count for the area, applies the rate for the frame, adds glass and fittings for the total, and divides by the count for the unit cost.
Common mistakes
- Quoting the frame rate per running foot by mistake, since aluminium is usually priced per square foot of window area.
- Forgetting the fittings and labour, because hinges, handles and installation are often charged separately and add a real share to the total.
When to use it
- Use it before ordering windows so the frame, glass and fittings are quoted as one figure rather than three separate surprises.
- Use it to compare an aluminium window with a uPVC or timber one on the same total area and glass specification.
Worked example
Six windows of 4 feet by 5 feet give an area of 120 square feet, so at 450 Taka per square foot plus 6000 Taka of glass and 4000 Taka of fittings the total is 64000 Taka and each window costs about 10667 Taka.
Common questions
Does the rate include the glass?
No, it covers the aluminium frame only, so keep the glass as a separate line, since glass is priced by thickness and type and varies a good deal.
