Home Construction Cost Calculator (Bangladesh)
Multiplies floor area by the cost per square foot and the number of floors to estimate total building construction cost in Bangladesh.

Formula
How the calculation works
The tool multiplies the area of one floor by the construction cost per square foot to get the cost of a single floor.
It then multiplies that single-floor cost by the number of floors to arrive at the base construction cost.
Finally it adds the contingency percentage to the base cost and returns the total estimated construction cost.
Common mistakes
- Using a per-square-foot rate without checking whether it covers finishing, wiring and plumbing work.
- Ignoring the contingency, although steel, cement and labour prices in Bangladesh often rise during a long build.
When to use it
- Plan a realistic budget before you start building, including a cushion for material price rises.
- Compare two per-square-foot contractor quotes for the same floor plan and area.
Worked example
A 1000 sq ft floor at 2500 taka per sq ft across 3 floors gives 7500000, and adding a 5% contingency of 375000 raises the total construction cost to 7875000 taka.
Common questions
What rate per square foot should I use?
In Bangladesh a common range is 1800 to 3000 taka per square foot depending on finishing quality, so 2500 is a mid-range default.
