Figures are computed on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.

Formula

areaCost = area * ratePerSqft; lightCost = lights * lightCost; total = areaCost + lightCost

How the calculation works

The area cost multiplies the ceiling area by the rate per square foot, giving the material and board cost for the covered surface.

The light cost multiplies the number of fittings by the unit price, covering the light fixtures and their installation in the ceiling.

Adding the two gives the ceiling total, so 500 square feet at 120 taka makes 60,000 taka and 10 lights at 800 taka make 8,000 taka, a total of 68,000 taka.

Common mistakes

When to use it

Worked example

A 500 square feet ceiling at 120 taka per square foot with 10 lights at 800 taka each costs 68,000 taka in total.

Area cost ৳60,000.00
Light fittings cost 8,000.00
Total ৳68,000.00

Common questions

Does the per square foot rate include the metal frame?

Often it covers the board and basic fixing only, so confirm with your contractor whether the channel frame and labour are inside the rate before you rely on the total.
