Figures are computed on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.

Formula

litres = wallArea * coats / coveragePerLitre; totalCost = litres * pricePerLitre

How the calculation works

Enter the total wall area to be painted in square feet, which is the length times the height of each wall added together.

Enter the number of coats you will apply and the coverage per litre printed on the paint can, which is usually given per coat.

The tool multiplies the area by the coats and divides by the coverage for the litres, then multiplies by the price per litre for the total cost.

Common mistakes

When to use it

Worked example

A wall area of 1200 square feet with 2 coats at a coverage of 120 square feet per litre needs 20 litres, costing 9000 Taka at 450 Taka a litre.

Litres needed 20.00
Total cost ৳9,000.00

Common questions

Should I subtract windows and doors from the wall area?

For a small job it is fine to ignore them, and for a large one subtract the larger openings so you do not buy a whole extra litre of paint you will not use.
