Figures are computed on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.

Formula

pileCost = numberOfPiles * pileDepthFt * ratePerFoot; totalCost = pileCost + rigSetupCost; capacityTons = numberOfPiles * pileCapacityTons

How the calculation works

Enter the number of piles, the depth of each in feet and the rate per foot that the piling contractor quotes.

Enter the rig setup or mobilisation charge, which is a fixed cost you pay even if the piling run is short.

The tool multiplies piles, depth and rate for the pile cost, adds the rig setup for the total, and multiplies piles by the pile capacity for the load capacity.

Common mistakes

When to use it

Worked example

With 10 piles each 30 feet deep at 900 Taka per foot and a rig setup of 50000 Taka, the pile cost is 270000 Taka, the total is 320000 Taka and the capacity is 400 tons.

Pile cost 270,000.00
Total cost ৳320,000.00
Total capacity (tons) 400.00

Common questions

Is the capacity figure a guaranteed safe load?

No, it is only the sum of the assumed pile capacities, so a geotechnical engineer must confirm the safe load with soil tests and a load test on site.
