Figures are computed on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.

Formula

volume = length * width * depth; cost = volume * ratePerCum

How the calculation works

The calculator multiplies the length, width and depth of the pit to get the volume in cubic metres.

It then multiplies that volume by the rate charged per cubic metre to give the total cost.

The depth should be the firm soil to be removed, not counting the sand or gravel fill added back afterwards.

Common mistakes

When to use it

Worked example

A pit 3 metres long, 2 metres wide and 1.5 metres deep holds 9 cubic metres, and at 450 taka per cubic metre the cost is 4050 taka.

Volume (m³) 9.00
Cost ৳4,050.00

Common questions

Does the rate include removing the soil?

It depends on the contractor, so it is worth clarifying whether the rate per cubic metre covers only digging or also loading and carrying the soil off the site.
