Figures are computed on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.

Formula

burn1 = met1 * weightKg * hours1; burn2 = met2 * weightKg * hours2; total = burn1 + burn2

How the calculation works

The calculator takes the MET value of an activity, which rates how intense it is compared with sitting still, and multiplies it by your weight in kilograms.

It then multiplies that figure by the number of hours you spend on the activity to give the calories burned in that session.

Adding the burn from each activity together produces the combined total for the day.

Common mistakes

When to use it

Worked example

At 70 kg, walking at MET 3.5 for 1 hour burns 245 kcal and running at MET 8 for 0.5 hour burns 280 kcal, giving 525 kcal in total.

Calories burned (1st) 245.00
Calories burned (2nd) 280.00
Total ৳525.00

Common questions

Where do MET values come from?

MET values come from the Compendium of Physical Activities, where one MET equals the energy used while sitting quietly at rest.
