Formula

percentage = cgpa * 9.5

How the calculation works

The 9.5 multiplier comes from a board convention that treats each grade point as roughly 9.5 percent of the total marks available on a 10-point scale.

Multiplying your CGPA by 9.5 turns the grade point average back into an approximate percentage that employers and admission forms often ask for.

A CGPA of 8.0 therefore gives 8.0 times 9.5, which is 76 percent, a figure most universities accept as the converted score.

Common questions

Is the 9.5 multiplier official everywhere?

No. It is a common board and university convention for the 10-point scale, but some institutions publish their own multiplier, so always check your own marksheet rule first.
