How the calculation works
Enter the number of cubic metres your prepaid meter shows for the period and the rate per cubic metre for your connection type.
The tool multiplies the used volume by the rate, following the government-set domestic rate of Tk 18 per cubic metre for metered households.
It then adds the monthly meter rent to reach the total payable, which is the amount your prepaid balance has to cover.
Common mistakes
- Using the unmetered flat rate instead of the metered per-cubic-metre rate, which gives a very different monthly figure.
- Forgetting the meter rent, because the prepaid bill is the usage charge plus the fixed rent, not the usage charge alone.

Worked example
Using 20 cubic metres at the domestic rate of Tk 18 per cubic metre gives a gas charge of Tk 360. Adding Tk 80 meter rent makes the total bill Tk 440.
