How the calculation works
The calculator works out each service fare by adding its base fare to the trip distance multiplied by its per kilometre rate.
It then compares the two totals and marks the cheaper service, showing the difference in taka.
The saving figure tells you how much you keep if you pick the lower of the two fares.
Common mistakes
- Comparing only the base fare and ignoring the per kilometre rate, since the rate often matters more on longer trips.
- Forgetting that surge pricing, waiting charges and tolls are added on top, so the app total can differ from this estimate.
When to use it
- Commuters use it before booking to see which app charges less for the trip they are about to take.
- It also helps judge whether a surge or waiting time is worth accepting on one service instead of the other.
Worked example
For an 8 kilometre trip with service A at 40 taka base plus 12 taka per km and service B at 50 taka base plus 15 taka per km, service A costs 136 taka, service B costs 170 taka and service A is cheaper by 34 taka.

Why can the app show a different total?
The estimate uses base fare and per kilometre rate only, while the app may add surge, waiting, toll or platform fees that change the final amount.
