How the calculation works
The calculator adds the grade points of the six subjects entered to get the total points.
It divides that total by six, since SSC results in Bangladesh are based on the compulsory and elective subjects counted equally.
The average is matched against the national grading table to give the letter grade, with 5.00 to 4.00 as A+ and so on down the scale.
Common mistakes
- Adding the fourth subject bonus automatically, since that optional bonus applies only where it is officially provided.
- Counting an F subject as zero while still averaging, because a single F makes the overall result a fail rather than a lower GPA.

- Students use it to estimate their GPA after a test result before the official mark sheet arrives at school.

Worked example
With grades A+, A, A-, B, A and A+ worth 5.00, 4.00, 3.50, 3.00, 4.00 and 5.00, the total is 24.50 points, the GPA is 4.08 and the letter grade is A+.
