How the calculation works
The tool multiplies the number of credits in the programme by the cost of one credit to get the tuition part.
It adds the total semester fees, which cover registration, lab and exam charges, to that tuition figure.
It divides the grand total by the number of years to return the average cost of each study year.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting the semester fees, which add a large amount on top of tuition and are often paid separately.
- Assuming the credit fee stays fixed, when private universities in Bangladesh usually raise fees each year.
When to use it
- Compare the full cost of two private university programmes before you apply for admission.
- Plan how much you must save each year once the total degree cost is spread across the study period.
Worked example
A degree of 130 credits at 4000 taka each with 120000 taka of semester fees costs 640000 taka, which is 160000 taka a year over four years.
