Figures are computed on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.

Formula

hoursPerDay = totalSyllabusHours / daysAvailable; totalHours = hoursPerDay * revisionFactor; adjustedHoursPerDay = totalHours / daysAvailable

How the calculation works

The tool divides the total syllabus study hours by the days available to get the base hours needed each day.

It multiplies those base hours by the revision factor, where 1.25 means adding a quarter of the time again for revision.

It divides the raised total by the same days to return the adjusted daily study target.

Common mistakes

When to use it

Worked example

A 320 hour syllabus with 80 days available needs 4 hours a day, and a 25 percent revision factor lifts it to 5 hours a day.

Hours per day 4.00
Adjusted hours/day 5.00
Total hours 400.00

Common questions

What revision factor should I use?

A factor of 1.25 adds a quarter more time for revision, and 1.5 gives half again, useful for subjects you find hard.
